What are to see at House of Opium? • The museum houses many relics, curios and antiques used in the opium trade in the golden triangle. Apart from this it exhibits paintings and other pieces that carries the cultural and historical relevance to the province of Chiang Rai and places around. 4. Why should I visit House of Opium? • The owners and the keepers of the House of Opium have always made their primary objective to inform the visitors with the history of the opium trade in the notoriously popular golden triangle. So if you want to know what golden triangle is and how they traded opium, House of Opium is a spot you don't want to miss. 5. Is this governmental museum or a private museum? • This is a private museum 6. Do you have opium for us to try? • Opium is an illicit narcotic analgesic drug and carries strong penalties for using or trading of it. No, we do not have opium for our visitors to try.
