Mekong River

Originated from the melting ice on the Himalayan ranges in Tibet , Mekong River flows to the East passing China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. With the length of approximately 4,200 Kilometres ( the 10th longest river in the world). It is the third widest river in Asia, after only the Yangzekiang and Gangis. Some sections of the Mekong River are dangerous for sniling because of rock which are a hazard to boats and ships. In dry seasons in which the water level is so low the cliffs in the river make the sailing impossible. A seen from an old drawing , a lot of labourers ware needed to drag a boat to get through a rocky rapid of the river. Moreover , the Mekong River has some deep basins with caves at the bottom , known as “Wang Pla Buek” or “pla Buek Basin”
