Welcome to House of Opium Museum
Although, the museum is mostly dominated by a huge collection of old weights, scales, fancy opium pipes and other paraphernalia of the period of opium trade the museum also highlights cultural aspects of Northern Thailand.
Dedicated to the deadly legacy of the opium trade, House of Opium is a Museum that displays artifacts related to the dark periods of late 60's when opium trade dominated the Golden Triangle. 
The new and revitalized House of Opium exhibits a variety of antiques that will not only provide intriguing information for enthusiasts but also educate visitors who are unaware of the dark history of this beautiful and rich region of the Northern Thailand . Although, the museum is mostly dominated by a huge collection of old weights, scales, fancy opium pipes and other paraphernalia of the period of opium trade the museum also highlights cultural aspects of Northern Thailand . Different pictures, paintings and items displayed in the museum shows the rich and much cherished culture of Northern Thailand .
In addition to enjoying the exquisite displays visitors of House of Opium can take back home with them their own collection of effigies, masks, opium pipes scales and boxes, knick-knacks and handicrafts, lacquer boxes, antiques, Buddha amulets, tiny ceramic tea sets, stamps, bank-notes, t-shirts and clothes, musical instruments, lots of post-cards, posters and much more from the gift shop adjacent o the museum.
